Each year Edge Hill Cemetery participates in the Writhes Across America program.  Veterans of all American wars are recognized.  Below are some photos of recent activities. 

About Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America is a national nonprofit organization best known for placing holiday wreaths on the headstones of fallen veterans. Their year-round mission is to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom. 

Every year, Congress proclaims a Saturday in December as National Wreaths Across America Day. On this day, millions of volunteers gather at thousands of participating locations across all 50 states and abroad to place sponsored veteran wreaths. 

The tradition began in 1992 when Morrill Worcester, owner of Worcester Wreath Company in Maine, had a surplus of wreaths during the holidays. Recalling a childhood trip to Arlington National Cemetery, he partnered with volunteers and local truckers to lay the surplus wreaths on older, less-visited graves at Arlington. Following a viral photo of the wreath-adorned headstones in 2005, the effort expanded nationwide, and Wreaths Across America was officially established as a nonprofit in 2007.
