Edge Hill Cemetery is located at 604 Hunter Street, Charles Town, West Virginia 25414. It is in historic Charles Town and serves families throughout Jefferson County and the surrounding region.

The cemetery office is generally open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with Wednesday and Saturday by appointment. Funeral services are held Monday through Saturday. The office is closed on major holidays and for a short period around Christmas; current office hours and any closures are listed on our Location and Hours page.

If you need to schedule a funeral when the office is closed, please call the Superintendent at the phone number listed on our Contact page. For non-urgent questions, you can email the cemetery at info@edgehillcemetery.org, and someone will respond as soon as possible.

We work with many funeral homes that serve Charles Town and surrounding communities, but Edge Hill Cemetery does not endorse any particular funeral home. Google’s listings are typically the easiest way to see the most up-to-date options in the area.

Grave spaces and cremation spaces can be purchased through the cemetery office. Current pricing for standard grave-site spaces and cremation spaces can be found on our Pricing page. Please contact the office by phone or email to discuss available sections, pricing, and payment options.

Standard grave openings and closings (vault) Monday–Friday are $1,650, with additional pricing for double-depth graves and cremation openings. Overtime charges apply for services after 3:00 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends. A full, current price list is available on our Pricing page.

Yes. Edge Hill Cemetery accepts Visa and MasterCard for many cemetery charges, including grave spaces and certain services. Please contact the office for details on payment methods.

Perpetual care means the cemetery is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the grounds, including mowing, basic upkeep, and general care of the property. Edge Hill Cemetery is the only cemetery in Jefferson County that provides perpetual care, which helps ensure the grounds are maintained for generations to come.

Plantings are generally not allowed unless they have been discussed with and approved by the Cemetery Superintendent. This helps protect the grounds and ensures maintenance can be done safely and consistently. Families interested in plantings should contact the office to review options.

No. Edge Hill Cemetery does not buy back grave spaces that have already been sold. Families with questions about unused spaces should contact the office to discuss available options.

Any object in the cemetery that is considered a safety hazard may be removed by the Cemetery Superintendent. If you notice something that seems unsafe or have questions about items at a gravesite, please call the office or speak with the Superintendent so it can be evaluated. Yes. Edge Hill Cemetery is owned by a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and operates as a community cemetery to for perpetual care of community family and friends serving Jefferson County and beyond.
